Abstract:

In this paper, the researchers have investigated a Concatenated Robot Move (CRM) sequence problem AND Minimal Part Set (MPS) schedule problem with different setup times for two-machine robotic cell. They have focused on simultaneous solving of CRM sequence AND MPS schedule problems with different LOADING AND unLOADING times. They have applied a Simulated Annealing (SA) algorithm to provide a good solution rapidly. A domination rule has been developed AND used in SA algorithm that strongly reduces the search space AND increases speed AND solution's quality of the algorithm. Numerical experiments indicate the results of the proposed SA from two points of view: quality of solution AND consumed time.

Abstract:

The importance of ports as a gateway for the entry AND exit of goods AND the origin AND destination of the most economical mode of transportation, namely sea transportation, is not hidden from us. In this research, with the aim of evaluating the performance of the unLOADING AND LOADING system of containers in the port by using simulation tools, while overcoming the complexity of the problem in terms of performing mathematical calculations, we intend to overcome the time-consuming nature of simulations with the proposed framework. For this purpose, by optimizing the simulation model AND using the design of experiments AND estimation of the appropriate response level, the appropriate mathematical model has been adapted. The results of this research showed how an analyst can easily solve the problem in a complex system by using the optimization method of pseudo-model-oriented simulation models. By using the influencing variables in the process, design of experiments AND validation techniques, a quasi-model has been approximated as the objective function of the problem. The results of the validation of the test space values showed that the efficiency of our proposed model is acceptable enough. Using the combination of variables, the highest number of loaded AND unloaded containers in Shahid Rajaei port shows that it is possible to improve the performance of the system by replacing the optimal combination.

Abstract:

Many researchers have investigated seismic performance of pile supported wharfs, but few studies are conducted to examine the effect of LOADING AND unLOADING cranes on seismic responses of this type of wharfs. This was due to an expired belief which considers the crane as a damper for the structure beneath AND reduces the seismic responses of the wharf. Since, ignoring the crane would enhance the safety factor of the design. This research aims to find the impact of crane on seismic responses of a pile supported wharf. Hence, a common type of pile supported wharf by specified geotechnical AND structural parameters used in Persian Gulf ports with AND without crane is 3-D modeled in SAP2000. Assessment of the seismic responses of the wharf is done via an incremental dynamic analysis. Finally, by using the destruction criterions which are adapted from push-over analysis, fragility curves of the wharf are proposed in three different moods. Analyzing AND observing the resulting values AND curves show that a crane does not affect the seismic AND vulnerability responses of the wharf in the direction parallel to the seashore however, in the direction perpendicular to the seashore, despite of the reduction of the wharf seismic responses the vulnerability responses increase.

Abstract:

Piles in structural foundations that are used to load transmissions from the main structure to the bed are generally subjected to lateral loads. In order to study the effect of concrete pile geometry on its structural behavior, several models with different shapes AND dimensions were selected AND analyzed, assuming nonlinear behavior for soil. The behavior of the pile models was studied, evaluated AND tabulated using numerical analysis under different conditions, such as changes in the pile geometry AND shape, AND soil properties. Therefore, the displacements of pile heads situated in granular soil, with different compaction levels, under a lateral load, were studied in LOADING AND unLOADING cycles. The dissipated energy was calculated based on pile head displacements in different load steps in the first AND second cycles of LOADING. The "performance index" is defined as the ratio of dissipated energy to the maximum pile head displacement, AND these two factors effects on different pile model behavior were compared, concurrently. It was observed that piles with rectangular cross sections AND smaller width have the maximum dissipation of energy, AND the minimum displacement occurs in dense soil.

Abstract:

considering the increased competition among container terminals, the best option to attract shipping lines is to improve the operational capacity AND make optimum use of the existing facilities aiming at reducing costs AND time of cargo LOADING AND unLOADING. Accordingly, the cargo owners’ satisfaction AND confidence is not achieved unless they are provided with an acceptable service level based on predetermined patterns AND believe that there is a controlled system in the port. A port or a terminal is exactly similar to a trade-industry unit AND, like all goods/service production centers, it is necessary to determine what is to be done to satisfy the customers’ needs; therefore, we need to measure our performance level AND assess the correctness of the related processesin proportion to the customers’ expectations. In evaluating the LOADING/unLOADING performance of a port, it is important to know to what extent the resources, especially berths, are utilized. This research is about Amirabad port which has 9 berths, AND its results show that in 2014 the berth occupancy for 1187 ships has been 57 hours per berth, the LOADING AND unLOADING average tonnage has been 104 tons/hr, AND the average time efficiency has been 50% which means ships in berths have been idle for about half of their time without productivity. It was also revealed that 75% of the unLOADING has been related to grain cargo AND 90% of the LOADING has been related to construction materials; the most important reason for frequent discontinuation of operations has beenthe owners’ unpreparedness.
